Agness Neiper/George Sommerville
« on: Sunday 14 August 11 10:35 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any information re the above this is what I have

George Sommerville married Agness Neiper 4th January 1838 in Mullyglass (witnesses James Neiper and Joseph Harden) they had the following Children

Agness Somerville born 1st March 1856 she married a Henry Leitch on the 2nd September 1878 at the Tandragee Presbyterian Church

Richard Sommerville Born 29th May 1854

Twins Isabell and Jemina born 5th April 1852

John Henry Sommerville Born 31st January 1850

Lucinda Born 27th October 1847

James Born 19th September 1843

Maybe Ellen born 2nd October 1841

I have traced the marriage of Isabella to a John Patterson 16th May 1884 at Gilford Presbyterian Church Parish of Tullylish

also the marriage of Lucinda to a William Samuel Gillespie 20th June 1884 at the same church as above

I was wonder if the is any connection with any other family trees as I am trying to trace the births and deaths of George and Agness

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to Rootschat.

The Irish civil registration index is online and covers deaths from the start of registration in 1864 until 1921 for Northern Ireland counties. You could try searching for George and Agnes there. Agness' surname was probably Napier (this will not show up on her death certificate) and variations of Agnes include Nancy and Ann/Anne.
The Irish BMD Index is available at this link

Do you know where they lived?

You said the marriage took place at Mullyglass but wasn't sure where the couple actually lived. Which church was it?
Think the townland might be Mullaghglass in Ballymore civil parish, Banbridge Poor Law Union which is actually in County Armagh. It's only about 12 miles from Gilford.

There certainly were Napiers in Mullaghglass- see Will Extracts at www.proni.gov.uk (Sarah's Will available to view)
David Napier, Mullaghglass died 26 February 1909
Sarah Napier, Mullaghglass died 7 December 1914 (widow of David)
Joseph Napier, Mullaghglass died 25 September 1937

Added- David & Sarah Napier also had a daughter Jemima so perhaps a family name?

Hi,
The name may very well be Neiper as I can find several others with this name in the Tanderagee Area.

Regards
Stewart, Irwin, Morrison, Haslett, Murrell - Dungiven area Co. Londonderry

Neiper is probably a variation of the surname Napier but that means you'll need to check both spellings in any reocrds you are searching.
