Hi Brian,
I notice that you have an extensive database for the Boer War and was wondering if you have anything on my mothers half uncle who died in the boer war. The info I have found so far about him are as follows:
John George Kitching - Private 5251, Unit: 7th (Queen's Own) Hussars. There is a memorial to him on his mother and sister's headstone which says that he died 29 June 1902.
On the Roll of honour website the following is stated: Private, 7th Hussars. Resident Ipswich. Probably died at Wynberg. Buried in the Methodist Cemetery, Wynberg, Capetown. No real information in any of the usual sources exists for this man except for a notation of where he is buried.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Michelle
