Who were the witnesses to the George and CLara wedding - do they shine any light on family members?

There is a death in 1916 of a Benjamin JOhnson of Thrup Oxfordshire, with administration granted in 1926 to Benjamin Johnson, boatman effects totalling £326.

Benjamin JOhnson left a will which might be worth looking at, once you have established if this is indeed the right Benjamin Johnson!

Hi,

Have you seen this Clara in 1891? Transcribed as JOHNSON but I think the image looks like JOHNSTON,

1891  RG12/1169  f.18  p.29  St Thomas, Oxfordshire
S T Orphanage, Osney Lane

Clara JOHNSTON    None    S    6    Orphan Scholar    Oxfords

Apologies Chas, I didn't see this question earlier.  The probate indexes are on Ancestry (upto 1941) which is where I got the information.
For information about how to get hold of the will, see here - http://www.justice.gov.uk/guidance/courts-and-tribunals/courts/probate/family-history.htm

So it is looking likely that the Benjamin and Betsey information that was found earlier is the correct family - except that we still have the problem of Clara never appearing with them, and the discrepancy of number of children on the 1911 census (which could be explained if Caroline was Betsey's daughter from a previous relationship).

Betsey's birth -
1881: bn 1846 Oxfordshire
1891: bn 1851 Oxford
1901: bn 1851 Oxford
1911: bn 1849 Jericho, Oxford

Just popping in to confirm that Jericho is an area of Oxford within walking distance of the city centre.  It's tucked in between Walton Street (home of Oxford University Press) and the Oxford Canal.
