No exact matches on SMI, but two possible options
William who married Sarah HATT in Buxted in 1784 or
William who married Philadelphia Huggins in Burwash 1775
Were all their children born in Burwash?       Roy G

There appear to be two families in Burwash with parents called William and Sarah Russell. Of all the children of the two families the first child I have found was born 1761 and the last 1805. The first "group", 6 kids, is 1761 - 1771. Then there is a child, Francis, born 1779. i believe his line is quite well documented re Park Mill. Then the second group of 11 kids was born between 1785 and 1805. Obviously William and Sarah HALL/HATT are candidates for the second group, which is the one I am most interested in.
A small but interesting side issue is that Benjamin Russell bn 1795 (1 of the 11) was the landlord of one of the pubs in Burwash and died in mysterious circumstances in 1825 (a far bit on the net on this). Anyway apart from confirming that Benjamin's father was a William Russell documents also refer to his uncle, Francis Russell. This obviously leads me to suspect that William (1759?) had a brother Francis, who I would also like to identify since it may very well help me identify William and Francis' parents of course.
Cheers,
David
