Chresberry, Wiltshire
« on: Sunday 07 August 11 09:28 BST (UK) »
Ancestry has over a period of approx 200 years, 245 marriages taking place in Chresberry, but I can't find this place anywhere.  For the particular marriage I am interested in LDS note the place of marriage as Rushall, which fits with my research but it is a huge leap.

Others have suggested Charlton or Chisenbury.

I can understand how Chisenbury and even Charlton can end up as Chresberry but Rushall.

I am wondering if the clerks had their own agendas!!

Chisenbury is very close to Rushall and possibly is in the Parish of Rushall.  I too have a bride in my research who lives in the parish of Rushall but seems to have married in "Chresberry".
