Hi again....It's not a major problem because the surname FYFE is reasonably uncommon. Assuming Henry and Thelma were in Queensland in 1954 it's only half a dozen years until 1960. Maybe a dozen or so FYFE births to trace in NZ.....(famous last words :-)

Add in the fact that the Births fiche always list the registration area, which can be compared to both the post-1960 births (which list mother and registration area) and the electoral roll areas you've already mentioned (HB, Wgtn etc).

Are Henry and Thelma listed in the NZ electoral rolls in the 1960's or is it only from 1978 onwards.

And do you have the exact electorates for 1978 and 1981. Plus any addresses mentioned. Other FYFE's may be listed at the same addresses post-1981. Easy enough to check at the library.

But this is all just additional stuff. As we said before, your best bet is a newspaper death notice.

Yes thats true, hopefully they did in NZ as I cant search the queensland records for those years!

I do have all of those details for them, should I pm you them instead of posting on here because of the dates and that their children will most likely be alive? I dont want to breech any protocol

Last Friday you could have asked Ellipitt to do it as yesterday she was visiting the National Library :-)
(The National Library holds all of NZ's newspapers on microfilm.)

But for now the easiest way is to start a new thread entitled "Wellington Newspapers Lookup - Death notice for FYFE" and list the details. See if you get any offers.

Hello, I have just found that Roy Fyfe was married to my gr-uncle's ex-wife Thelma Amelia nee Gallagher.  I have the information regarding Thelma prior to her marriage to "Roy" in Perth and prior to them going to NZ.  They were in Brisbane from around 1949, 1959.  My interest now is Thelma's son Francis Douglas Huntly, now Francis Douglas Fyfe.  In amongst the information you have received from New Zealand, did you happen to find anything about Frank Fyfe?  Because Frank has a half brother on his father's side, who is keen to find his brother.
