"The farm of Inverebrie, 120 acres, has been the home of the family Barrack for three generations. 1957, James Barrack, and Margaret White, his wife, a native of Rayne, the daughter of John White, born at Loanhead, Daviot, and Elizabeth Barrack, his wife, also a native of Daviot. A brother, Ian Barrack, a banker at Echt, died in 1955; George resides at Bridge of Allan, and a sister, Mary Margaret, is the wife of Albert Gray, an engineer residing in London. James Barrack is the son of James Barrack, 1861-1932, and Margaret Murdoch, 1864-1952, his wife, who was born at North Skelmanae, parish of Methlick, and grandson of George Barrack, and Isabella Rettie, hs wife. The family have farmed Inverebrie for over a century. In 1919, James Barrack, Senr., purchased Inverebrie from the Earl of Aberdeen. It would appear that the family Barrack have resided in the parish of Ellon since the 17th century."

From A History of the Burgh and Parish of Ellon, Aberdeenshire, James Godsman, 1958.

Graham.

Hello. This does not related to the cemetery/gravestone. However, I have the death record for Catherine Gibb. She died 21 May 1874 at age 66 - single - at the Poorhouse in the Village of Ellon. She was a Domestic Servant and later a Pauper. Her parents were George Gibb and Janet Udny. Her son Robert Young from Yonderton, Ellon was the death informant.

The Young/Gibb photograph is from Ellon Churchyard not the new Cemetery.  Stone 89 from the Aberdeen & North East Scotland MI Index is on Findagrave #168622963.
