David Pitt and Sarah Prosser Christopher, Michaelchurch Eksley/St. Margarets

I am looking for information on David PITT of Michaelchurch Eskley/St. Margaret’s, Herefordshire.

What I do know about him is that he and his wife Mary (maiden name unknown) had the following children baptized at Michaelchurch Eskley: James, 1739; Jane, 1742; David, 1744; John, 1746; Thomas, 1747; Sarah, 1748; Hannah, 1750; William, 1751; Elizabeth, 1753; Samuel, 1754; and Ann, 1757. On a 1747 baptism his residence is listed as St. Margaret’s and I found a burial for a David PITT at St. Margaret’s 22 March 1786.

I am trying to verify whether my David Pitt is the same individual listed in a Lord Abergavenny Estate lease record of 8 Feb. 1736/37 for land in Upper Mescoed to Thomas CHRISTOPHER of St. Margaret’s and wife Sarah for lives of David PITT, son of Sarah, age 21, and Samuel SANDERS, age 2, and Sarah SANDERS, age 8, grandchildren of Sarah.

I found a marriage record at Michaelchurch Eskley for Thomas CHRISTOPHER of St. Margaret’s and Sarah PROSSER, widow, on 7 Feb 1736/37. And I found a burial for Sarah CHRISTOPHER on 11 Oct 1741. There is another lease agreement in the estate records for 1736/37 in which Sarah is listed as the third life to Thomas PRICHARD and his wife Elizabeth of Clodock.

Is anyone has additional information on any of these individuals, it might prove helpful in my research

Hiya TL....Sorry I can`t help you , but I have Constance Prosser b abt 1650 who married John Merrick b abt 1650
their children were christened in Llandinabo...I have just checked and Michaelchurch Eskley to Llandinabo is FOUR miles ...so I think we may have a link through the Prosser marriage....obviously Sarah Prosser is staed widow...was Sarah born a Prosser or was that her married name ?....when she married Thomas Christopher ..do you know ??

Unfortunately, the only thing I know about Sarah is what is on her marriage entry listing her as Prosser, which could be her maiden name or a previous married name, and that according to the lease agreement she had a son David Pitt.  She may have married a Pitt at one time and he's the offspring or David could have been illegimate and Pitt was her maiden name.  I could not find any obvious earlier record for her in Michaelchurch or St. Margarets and no baptism for a David Pitt in those records nor on IGI.
