I'm not sure how to use this site but hoping I'm in the right place
I am trying to find more info on christina hewitt whose death is registered in tynemouth  in 1935c
I think this may be my ggrandmother (the only christina hewitt in the north east registered ) but she has the added initial O after her first name , which my ggrandmother didnt have.
she was born in 1985c and married william james hewitt ( who I cannot locate a death record for either !)
can any one help

Hello, and welcome to RootsChat!

A couple of questions to help us tie down the right person...

What was Christina's maiden name?

When/where was William James Hewitt born?

FreeBMD has a marriage in Mar Q1906 with William James HEWITT and Christian Thomson WILSON on the same page - is this the right one?  (Newcastle on Tyne 10b 11)

If so, Christian T HEWITT died in Kensington in 1945 aged 62.

Hi disha, and welcome!

Rambler's beaten me to it with the possible marriage  :(
Did they have a son called Norman?  If so, you might find that Christina came from the Edinburgh area.  (FreeBMD only covers England & Wales so her birth won't show up on there.)

Good luck!

PS I think she was born c1885.

Hi,

Welcome to Rootschat :)

Possible death for William,

William J HEWITT    Sep Q 1927    Castle Ward    Northumberland    10b  333
Age at Death: 44

Fits with the registration district in 1911.

Possible birth for Christina,

Christina Thomson WILSON    Dec Q 1881    Alnwick Northumberland    10b  345

that would make her a bit older than 62 at her death, but people do fib about their age and the info. would only be as good as the informant at death knew.

However it doesn't fit with the 1911 age or Edinburgh birthplace  ???

Regards,
Daisy

Bear in mind that the info on a death cert is only as good as the informant's knowledge!  The only reliable way to see what is on a cert is to buy it.

wow thanks everyon
manchester rambler , yes this her
daisy petal , thismay be christina , I believe from what I have found that her mother and ather lived in edinburghand then hawick , there appears to be 2 christinas born to the same parents  1 in edinburgh and 1 in alnwick , we assumed the first died . She definately died before their son ( my grandfather (yes norman george born in june 1910 your right carole) married my grandmother in 1935. William george was dead before this time too
Its been a bit of ajourney because although norman is registered as there child he was told he was adopted .......after a long trail and someyears I found a decendant of christinas whose gggrandmother had a baby norman in 1910 who the family thought had died ( he was christinas brothers child) . Needless to say we have made some assumptions.
we really dont know anything about the family after 1912 , my grandfather never spoke of them ,
thank you all so much , I assume I need to order certificates and see if they match

Disha, I saw 'Christian' instead of Christina in FreeBMD for the marriage and death, the same as Rambler.  Clicking through to the page image confirms Christian Thomson and Christian T respectively.

(By the way, we can't answer you when your thread is locked!  We have to get a moderator to unlock it :D )

All the best,
Carol

Just to confirm (now the thread has been unlocked!) that it was Christian, not Christina on the BMD entries.  ;)
