Hello Rosalie. Welcome to the Canada board... Please don't use wrong dates and question marks...( I see what you were trying to say but as you can see it looked as though you did not have the information, so using up resources)

Archives New Zealand Head Office Wellington holds passenger lists for nearly all ships arriving in New Zealand for the period 1883-1973.

If you can't find them, you may be able to trace him through ship's crew lists

Rosalie, please tie up loose ends on the thread you start on that board.

Easy to find, just use the search above on page and put in the names & your username

Have also noted that there are other searches online on the same subjects...on other sites, where they also ask you to not duplicate resources

Don't know why, as I didn't say "don't use the site" I simply asked you to please take the time to find your old queries so that you don't duplicate resources. If you help a bit on the board, and I think you do, I ask you to imagine finding your exact same answers several times in other areas. Please consider that these are people who are willing to share their time and resources..
All I can say is, if you are going, you're missing out on a fabulous help site.  :D J.J.

Get back here, Rosalie!  JJ has to point out the doubles so that the people helping don't get discouraged because they've spent a lot of time searching only to find it's already been answered elsewhere.  Now you know, so no harm, no foul, as they say!

Now, back to business!  ;D

I have the marriage registration of Arthur and Rose (the real one, not the IGI/family search transcription).  It seems there was a change in occupation after they married, as he was farming in Sidney, British Columbia at the time they married. They married in Vancouver, which is (today) a 2.5 hour trip by a big ferry..... so in 1911? I'm quite curious now as to how they even met.  I can't imagine how Rose would feel thinking she was going to be a farmer's wife in an absolutley gorgeous part of Vancouver Island, only to have him turn into a seafaring man....

PM your email if you'd like a copy sent over to you. Being an older record, it doesn't haven't a ton of info, but it still has lots of interesting tidbits.
