Yes I did know Robert, Henry, John, William & Chambers went to USA also a sister Ruth. Their father Henry also went but returned to England. Henry jnr. also returned as I found him on 1901 census in Cumberland. Robert married a Mary Pound. Lost track of Ruth may have married. Chambers was called after his mother Martha Chambers. My Grt. Grandfather was Joseph Skelton b 1844. Will be able to write a book with all this information.

I was quite surprised last night to find 4 other brothers of William - I had mean't to check earlier but never got round to doing it and you had never mentioned any other family connections in the USA. So quite possibly you already had much of the information I was posting ? Not sure now what you have on the other brothers but I will put the notes on for you that I made last night - seems a shame to waste the info. Mostly the children of Robert. You would need to work the relationships of all these relatives to try and make a later contact. Many of the names follow patterns, so its trying to work out who belongs to who.

Effie married Louis Sequin about 1903 and had a son Son Robert S 1905 Montana.
Louis Sequin was born 1870 Michigan to Canadian/Irish parents. Apart from Effie & Robert living with Mary Skelton in 1930 - No further Info.

Hi Dittori28
Thanks once again for your latest information. Looks like I will need a separate tree just for my American Skeltons. Spent all of Saturday evening trying to get my head round all these people.

Can't remember putting this 1870 census for Sioux City, Woodbury, Iowa. The mystery will be whether J H Skelton is a son of Robert or Ruth.
Robert Skelton 31 Farm Labourer
Ruth Skelton 27 Keeping House
M A Pound 18 At Home
J H Skelton 5
