I dont have birth certificate for William, Just Minnie Catherine who was born in 1904

It might be worthwhile getting that.  They must have married either just before he was born, or just after, as both marriage and birth appear to have been registered in the same quarter.

I see they baptised him Frederick William, just to confuse things more!!

Just might give a little more detail.  It's possible she could have been married before?  And it's also possible she made up a father?

I will order Certificate for William and see what transpires from that, from the leads she giving i am beginning to wonder what truth was with her, Camberwell then Scotland for birth, different middle name on Baptism for one of the Children,

When you say you have looked at the two birth's of the Sophia's in Camberwell...did you order the certs?

You're welcome.  I had a frustrating lady who changed her birth from Scotland and London etc, she ended up being born in Ireland!!

Do you have her on the 1911 census?  Where was her husband on the 1901?

I ordered the certificates when i first started out, very expensive when you think its an easy task tracing family lol,
 As far as iknow Frederick was a ships cook so was possibly away abourd ship in 1901, i cant find them on the 1911 census but will look it up under simkins as the 1891 was under that

Having searched the 1911 census i cant find any trace, even looked at the 9 addreses i have for the period 1888 to 1911.

In Advanced Search, look for Gladys, who was the baby in 1901 (should they be  still in Lancashire West Derby by 1911?)  set the surname as a 'variant' as TOMKINS is easily mis-spelled.  

If  you find her, then put HER name in the "Other Members of the Household" fields,  and just the surname at the top "Personal"fields - running this 2nd search will show other members of the household with the same surname.

The 1891 has been transcribed as SIMKINS, but it was enumerated as TOMKINS.
