Hello all,
Hoping someone can help me out here, I have been working on this chap for some time and after putting many many hours in I realise I still know nothing new! It has got to the point where I am making wild ambiguous guesses so I though I should probably take a step back and see if someone with fresh eyes can see a solution, Ancestors in the greater London area cause me much grief!
Charles Morton (do not even have a confirmed birth date) married Sarah Snelson Nov 1800 in St George Bloomsbury.
Wedding cert states that he comes from Croydon, Surrey, she was a resident of the parish.
They had 3 children
James Cattel Morton b.1801
Joseph Snelson Morton b.1803
and Catherine Eliza Morton b.1804- All baptised at St John the baptist, Croydon . (Edit - I should note that in the family bible it states that James came from Godalming, Surrey but the baptism record states that he was baptised in Croydon)
Now I have sucessfully found all relevant info on the two sons (thanks to their unusual middle names) but Charles and Sarah, my 4x ggrandparents are still enigmas to me, can anyone help me find out a little bit more? I have been unable to locate them in the 1841 census - but also unable to find deaths for them (or even a birth!)
Sorry, I know it is not much to go on.
many thanks, Liz
