John Montgomery was born Halifax Nova Scotia 1810 to ? father and mother Elizabeth Montgomery.  This was found on I.G.I. with no parents named. They were both British, while John's father was serving in the Navy ?.

Hello Thelma
We too are looking into John Montgomery with much great help from your Montgomery.50megs website.  My wife is a direct descendant of John, her Great Great Grandfather on her fathers side.

We have lots of info about the Portsmouth branch of the Montgomery family but are also trying to trace John's background and parentage.

We'd love to hear if you have managed to trace any more information.
