So we know that The JACKSONS were still in Scotland on 31 March 1901
I wonder when they emmigrated to NZ.??
and if they went with David & Ann ROBERTSON & Family !!

John Smith and Jane Hellen JACKSON both first appear on the Hutt (Wellington) electoral roll in the year,
1911.
They settled in Petone (pronounced "petonee") where John had a business "J S JACKSON, Grocer" (may have also been known as Thorngrove Grocers ?) in Jackson Street. [Not though, named for him.

]
Petone is at the Northern end of Wellington Harbour - Lower Hutt is the adjoining suburb.
Seems John was active in local business and community affairs - and at a later date he also owned a building which housed other retail businesses.
I think the family possibly arrived in NZ in 1910 ... but see next post >>
