I am trying to trace the siblings of my Gr Grandmother Eliza Warr
Eliza was botn in Birmingham in 1860 to Arthur Warr and Hannah Webb - she emigrated to Austrlian in 1889 where she married emanual Pascual and had her first child Vincent Manual in 1893. The family moved to South Africa where her second son Torres Joseph was born in 1897
She had 3 siblings :
- Elizabeth born 1853 (christened 16 Oct 1853)
- George Henry  1857 (christened 22 Nov 1857)
- Millicent born 1856
Arthur dies in 1880
Hannah dies in 1889 in the workhouse infirmary of Phneumonia
I have not found Elizabeth after the 1871 census where she may have been a visitor at a boarding house
Henry (he is named Henry on all the census recrds i have found) was last spotted on the 1881 census as an joiner in engineers shop and living with his mother and sisters
Millicent married a Charles Wilkins and had a daughter Gertrude Harriet in 1880 , the family was on the 1891 census.
Eliza made a trip back o England in 1894 with Vincent and another 1902 with both her sons. According to my Gr Uncle Vincent they went to visit her family - presumably one of more of her siblings. any hep with finding Elizabeth, Henry and Millicent would be great

Thinking about the family logically(?!):
Eliza emigrated in 1889, at the age of 29.
Did she travel alone? Or with elder sister Elizabeth and/or brother George Henry?

Elizabeth may have married - but so far I can't find a suitable marriage!
By the 1881 census she would have been 28 years old.

Of course, the other reason Elizabeth and George Henry can't be found is that maybe they died?

Yes that is the census record I am sort-of attributing to Elizabeth
Eliza left on her own from what I can work out. She arrived in Townsville on the 'Dacca' and is listed as She is recorded as disembarking at Townsville on the 27th March 1889 as a general servant brought to Australia to work for Owen O’Neil of Short St. Eliza was 24 years old single, protestant and could read and write and was from Warwick.
she then moved to Thursday Island where she married Emanual. On their marriage record her parents are listed as Hannah Webb and Arthur Warr .
I am pretty sure some of her family must have still been in England when she travelled there with her boys. Uncle Vin could remember where they went in Birmingham and returned there on a visit in his later years - unfortunatelly I only really got interested in all of this long after he died at age 88.
I haven't found any emigration records for Millicent and her husband or for George Henry. Cant find any deaths for Millicent and Gertrude - there are possible deaths for Charles - maybe Millicent remarried?

I finally found records for both Millicent and Henry after Ancestry published the Birmingham records.
Turns out Millicent remarried to a Frederick Williams after the death of her first husband. I also found a number of other children!
Children:
- Gertrude Harriet born 1880 - found on the 1881 , 1891 census but no further records
- Millicent  born 1881, married Alfred Harper a "Sight Maker" for a gun manufacturer - she was a "Screw Wormer" on the 1911 census with 4 children
- Florence Annie born 1882 - found her on the 1911 census as Staff Nurse
- Arthur born 1844 -  found on the 1901 census as a Brass Dresser and on  1911 census as "Sight Maker" married to Lydia Birch
- Ada born 1885
- Nellie born 1889 - was a Pinanfore machinist on the 1911 census living with her mother and stepfather
- Elsie born 1890
And a child Frederick born of the 2nd marriage

I also found a marriage for a George Henry Warr to a Jeckeriaa Wasingtion a daughter of a traveler - witness to the marriage was Millicent. Haven't found any other records for this couple! Nor indeed any other record for the wife.
 
As for Elizabeth still no sign of what happened to her - though she must have been in Birmingham in 1902 as I found a letter from Great Uncle in my cousins effects where he mentions that the family visited his mothers sisters in Birmingham! The family spent about 6 months in England and the two boys went to school in Birmingham.


Any ideas as to how to trace Elizabeth and Jeckeriaa?

As Jeckeriia's Father was Veriquer Wasingtion (deceased), have you considered asking on the traveller board about the family?

As he marries as Henry G, have you considered the death of a Henry G Warr, age 73, in Birmingham in 1930?

I cannot see a birth of any Henry G to fit it.

Hi Thanks for that, I will try the Travellers board. I do have a birth record for George Henry Warr baptised ST Thomas in the Birmingham records in 1857 and have assumed the 1930 death is him - would have to request a copy but even then it probably wont be definitive.
Any ideas on Elizabeth?

It is believed that travellers do not get picked up on censuses.

Irish?

There are Vereker's etc but as a surname.
The writing on the certificate looks very clear, but as it is probably phonetic I do not know what the names for father or daughter could be - which is why the travellers board is the place to go.

The death certificate might throw up an unexpected gem, and as you are having problems then you need it.

Not thought more about Elizabeth, sorry.
