Signature of Bride and as a Witness -completed
« on: Saturday 23 July 11 16:01 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I have come across the marriage entry for what might be my 4x Greatgrandparents, in Rettendon, Essex 1802.

I have also come across a marriage in Ramsden Bellhouse, Essex 1811, where it appears that a person with the same name is a witness.

To me, apart from the spelling, both names seem written similarly, which could mean they are one and the same peson.  I would be grateful for your views.

Thanks,

Roli

Hello Roli

There is certainly some similarity but surely her married name would be Rawingson not Rolison ?

Sorry but I can't really see any similarity.

I would be surprised if she spelt her Christian name in two different ways.
Best wishes, Judy :-))

I see the top one as Rebecah Green and John Rawlinson

- I don't think they are the same person either even though the sound of Rawlinson and Rolison could be similar.

Hi,

Thank you for your thoughts on this.  I was, of course, hoping the two were actually the same person but I am now persuaded they are not.  My cousin and I have been trying to find something on our 4x great grandfather for about 5 years now. Ho hum, back to the drawing board!

Thanks for your help.
