https://www.familysearch.org/has a British Columbia death registration for Hilda Miriam Pepper born 30 October 1885 - died 17 December 1965 widow of Frederick Pepper. Whoever registered the death only knew that her maiden name was HOWES, not either of her parents' full names.
Fred Pepper's death was also registered in British Columbia, in 1964. His parents are named as John and Mary Ann (née Coleman).
The birth of Hilda Miriam Howes was registered in Royston district in December quarter of 1885. As there are no other female HOWES births registered in Royston district during 1885-6, I suspect that she is
Minnie Howes who appears in the 1891 and 1901 censuses:

However, unless you already know that Hilda's parents were Ernest and Julia. you would need her marriage certificate, which would give her father's name and occupation, in order to confirm it.
