I am related to the Sheridan's.  My Grandmother was Florence, sister of Isabel Sheridan, married to Robert McCoy/Coy son of Mary Jane Reid.  So very distant really.  I was filling in some gaps for my Dad, who is 88 and remembered McCoys from when he was a kid, but didn't know how they were related.

I saw your conversation and thought that if you needed help, particularly with Sth Aust BDM, I have some access.

I'd love to know about the name changing... Coy to McCoy.
I'm also interested in Mary Jane Reid's husband John James Coy / James McCoy - records from before and coming to Aust.

I am the Grandson of Percy McCoy born Port Augusta 1894 & died in 1973 in Brisbane . My name is Matthew McCoy . My Grandfather married Lillian Mary McCoy . They were terrific people.  They had 2 children , Elizabeth my Aunt & Brian my Father . There were 14 Grandchildren . We all lived together between 2 houses in Brisbane , Queensland . Hi Jodee lee , thanks for your message about Robert McCoy . I don’t know a great deal about the McCoy Family in South Australia . I remember my Grandfather Percy McCoy telling me his brother Adam & his sister Veronica aka Vera visiting him & his wife Mary in Brisbane many years ago .  One day I’m going to visit S A . I would like to see places where my Grandfather lived eg Port Augusta & Melrose & hopefully meet some relatives .  I look forward to hearing from you .

Hello to all, I am the daughter of Kevin McCoy and Betty McCoy (new Coverdale) of Port Augusta. Seems to be a lot more McCoy's than I first thought.

I can vaguely remember dads father living with us for a short time when I was a child. That would have been Robert McCoy I would think.

Sadly I don't have a lot of knowledge about the family history
