I think we'd probably need about 10 for a behind the scenes tour (so that's you, me and 8 others...)

I think the archive would be okay with me doing a 'dummies' session, but I've have to check.

I might be able to source a meeting room for less, about 20 min walk from the archive, if enough people were interested: perhaps a talk on something, a brickwall session, lunch and then the archive tour?

Let me know if anyone would be interested - but I think that this would have to be a weekday.

Well done Willow.
Only seven more to find.

Come on folks, don't let history be a mystery.

Okay, so it looks as though the idea of a day course has finally sprung to life...
I’ll start looking at venue prices and then we can get a bit further into deciding the format:  but off the top of my head I’m thinking:

10.00  Meet up, coffee, icebreaker
11.00 Talk
12.00 Break for lunch
12.45  Brickwall session
1.45  Coffee
2.00 Archive tour
3.30 Coffee, followed by free time in archive

If we go for a room at the archive, it would save time traipsing across the city centre and currently would cost £60/£80 if we use the room for a half day - if we need it for a full day then the cost would be £100/120: a speaker would cost possibly a max of £50.00. If we can count on 10 people, the max cost per person would be £17.00. We’d need to provide our own lunches, but there is a little coffee room.
Now, I can think of two speakers I could contact who could do us a talk on some aspect of local history – or would you prefer me to pontificate on something?  And if the latter, can I have some ideas on what you would like me to talk about?  I do teach Family History, but mainly at beginner/intermediate level.
Ideas please...

So disappointed, I'll be issuing postal votes that day. Can't avoid it, it's been on the cards ever since the date of May Elections was fixed. :-[
I suppose I can look forward to another meet in Summer?

A bit confusing here: I guess you're referring to MiniMeet II, on 20 April?   I've put in my FH class programme another Works Outing for the third Friday in August (think it's the 17th) and I'm happy for that to be another MiniMeet - - MiniMeet III? Son Of MiniMeet?? - any suggestions for venue welcome (keep it cheap, folks....)
