« on: Friday 22 July 11 13:29 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any information about Vincent Lacey born 1888, Thomas Lacey born 1897 and John Lacey born 1901. Parents were Thomas Lacey 1864-1931 and Kate Lacey formerley Hill born 1861.

They were all born in Leeds West Yorkshire.

1901 census has the family:

Lacey, Thomas  Head  M  39  Boiler Maker's Labourer  b Leeds
Lacey, Kate  Wife  F  35  b York
Lacey, Lily  Daughter  F  14  Bottle Washer  b Leeds

Thanks garrad. Have all this info also 1911 census, but the family seem to go there own ways after this date. My grandfather Harry Windsor Lacey never told us about his family. So we have no idea what happened after 1911.

Once again many thanks.

Hello There.....

My parents often talked about a Lacey family, and I believe one of them was a policeman, and then went to Canada, and joined the Mounties....

However,

Vincent was born February 14th 1888, and died in 1982 at Leeds

On June 28th 1914, he married Carrie Hopkins, at St Lukes Beeston Hill. He was a labourer. Witnesses were Ethel Lacey, and Ernest Hopkins

They certainly had one child, Vincent Jnr , and in 1937, they were living at 62, Throstle Lane , Middleton.

Your grandfather was living at 5, Brixton Street, Holbeck.

There are about three John Lacey's and a couple of Thomas's, but I will try to pin them down, and see which of them is "yours"

Hi JennieR, Thank you very much for your reply. I have Grandad Harry Windsor as having married Florence Hannah Raynor at the address you mentioned.  I would be very grateful for any help you can give me. I am in touch with Lorraine the granddaughter of Vincent, but she knows less than I do about the family.

Hoping to hear from you very soon.

   Regards Patridee

Hello again....

I think your Thomas died in 1940 at Leeds, and although I cannot find a marriage for him, he appears to be living with a Phyllis Lacey in 1937, at 11 Tatlock Street, Holbeck.

I have found a likely marriage for John Lacey, which took place in Leeds at St Matthews Church, Chapel Allerton in 1928 to a Margaret Eliza Harris. They do not apear to have had children. John Lacey died in 1964, and is buried at Harehills Cemetery, grave ref is 16482. Margaret Eliza died in 1983.

Hi Jeannie, once again thanks for your help. I now have Vincent and Carrie's children
as Vincent Jnr born 1916, Douglas born 1918, Jean born 1921 and Dennis born 1924.

Harry Windsor married Florence Hannah Raynor 1915. Children were Norman [my father]1924-1975 and Ronald 1927-1940.

Lily born 1887-1971 she never married.

Ethel born 1895-1971 she never married.

Lorraine the granddaughter of Vincent seemed to think Thomas 1864 died 1931 due to a road accident, but has no proof.
