Hi there,
No I haven't found his birth yet, seems very odd, I have obtained the cert you mentioned and it transpires the mothers name is Blanch Pritchard and father John Pritchard and need it to be Sarah Pritchard/Prichard, have also obtained other certs in the area at that time, as I went through the census for 1841 and all the babies born in the street were registered at Abergavenny and it states he was born in the county. I often wonder if he was registered in another name (the fathers name) as Pritchard was Sarah's maiden name, gets very confusing, but am still searching and searching for different clues to try and find him.
I'm not sure if you know the story but Sarah Prichard lived with her sister Mary Jones in 1841 in Penmark, Sirhowy Iron Works, just herself and a baby, when I checked the next census 1851, there is no trace of her as a Prichard or Edward, both are renamed as Bevan's, So Edward probably didn't belong to Thomas Bevan because if he did she would have put Edward Bevan on the census rather than Prichard, as Thomas was only living further on down the street in 1841.
Anyway, I am still looking but welcome any comments....thanks!
