Thank you. I orginally thought the same, however on the census "Sirhowy Iron Works" seemed to have a line through it (wasn't sure what it meant).
I couldn't find this Penmark/Penmarc on Google, only the Penmark in the south of the area very close to Penarth and close to Cardiff Airport. I will try again.
So I am right in assuming that the Penmark in the south, close to Penarth area and Cardiff Airport, is not the same penmark I am researching near Sirhowy and Dukestown?
And also do you know if Penmark was a street name or place/area, maybe farms in the area or a place for the coal miners to live? I do know Sirhowy well and the surrounding areas, I also have family in Tredegar, but wasn't sure of the place Penmark, so if it is where I thought it was that's great!
And finally, I was wondering if you would know of the parish church situation for that area in and around 1840. I am now researching baptisms and I have a very interesting situation to investigate, so any info of that area would be great, so if you know of any websites I would be very greatful for your help.
Thanks in advance
