BACK TO BROKEN HILL
Over 2000 Invitations Sent Out
NOT PEAK YET
Although the peak period for the issuing of invitations is not considered to have been reached yet Mr. J. N. Jonas, organiser of the ''Back to Broken Hill Jubilee"
celebrations, has already despatched over 2000 invitations to tormer residents of Broken Hill in almost every part of thc Commonwealth. Further activities of the committee will be gone into at a meeting in the Town Hall to-night.
In addition to the extensive list of invitations being sent out each day to persons who local residents desire to return for the celebrations, Mr. Jonas has issued a number of special Invitations. The ordinary invitations are sent out when persons send in their names and addresses of former residents to the organiser. Despite the large number already despatched Mr. Jonas considers he has not yet touched the peak. The invita- tions have been widely distributed practically all over Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand, with the idea of getting the function as widely circulated as possible. Further invi- tations are to follow.

A special invitation has been forwarded by Mr. Jonas to Mr. E. S. Spooner, the Minister for Local Government, and the Under-secretary. Others to rcceive special invitations are the president and members of the Fire Brigades Board and exe- cutive officers, and the president and members of the executive committee and secretary of tho Local Govern- ment Association. Policewoman Nellie Poole, of Port Adelaide, who is a daughter of one of tho original seven holders of the Proprietary syndicate, has also been invited, while the sole remaining member of that syndicate, Major Phillip Charley, .of Grossvale, via Richmond, is to be specially in-
