Is the mother's maiden name included on the birth certificate? I am interested in certificates issued between 1840 & 1880.

Civil registration of births started in 1864 so there will be no birth certificate for 1840. All birth certificates from 1864 onwards will have the mother's name listed.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for
