Milroy search help

I am looking for any information on the parents or spouse of John Milroy - b 1816 in Krkcubright, Scotland and in 1881 was residing in St Thomas Terrace, when the census was taken at Winlaton, Durham, England

1881 - He is shown as the father of Edward Milroy b 1852 Hexham

1861 shows wife as Janet aged 49 b ? Tonper Scotland

Eldest child was Jane aged 22 b Cumberland

However - the 1851 shows eldest child as Mary b 1837 Cumberland so any marriage will be pre-1837

Do you know a person called Mike Bell - he has reported 1861 transcription errors for this family so may have an interest

many thanks for the response.  I live in the USA and received a letter from my Aunt in Co Durham - she just had a visit from Mike Bell ( we are cousins somewhere down the line) and put us in touch.

I have a copy of the birth certificate of Edward 18/6/1851 who is my Gt. Grandfather, his Father is John Milroy married to Janet formally Burns living in Dean St Hexham UK. Would you like me to send you a copy of this certificate ??

Hello Neil10. Yes I would be very interested in viewing your connections, as this is my first time on Rootschat, I'm not sure how to attach the copy of Edwards certificate. I shall send this off and photo copy it  and store on my computer and take it from there
