I'm rather puzzled by your query.Whilst there may well be an obvious error in the years you may have given,I'm only finding a possible son John of the John and Susannah Lloyd mentioned born in c 1854.What I'm not finding on any Census is this John married to  Ann?

Hi

I agree WR. Maybe it was a typo. Maybe they married 1872  :-\

This is probably the family in 1861

Mill House, Llwnledw, Eglwysegle*
RG09/4312/72/6

John Lloyd, 50, Ag Lab, b. Eglwysegle
Susan, 40, miller, b. -do-
Benjamin, 9. b. Merionethshire, Llan?
John, 7,  b. Llangollen

gnu

* I believe that Eglwyseg, Eglwyseg Eagle and Eglwysegle are alternatives.

Thanks for your help.

Yes it was typing errors although gnu has got John Lloyds parents and brother correct.

John Lloyd was born about 1852 and died about 1889.  His wife Anne Edwards was born about 1855 as I said in Garth she later married a Joseph Jones and lived at The Mill Plas Yn Pentre Llangollen.

In 1881 they lived at 7 Caledrin Cottage in Llangollen with their son and daughter Edwin and Elizabeth Ann.

I have found out that they had another daughter born about April 1876 who died on 21 March 1877.

I just cannot find out where they were married but it has to have been before 1876.

I am also trying to find Edwin Lloyd born 1878 in Llangollen the last I heard was that he had moved to Birkenhead but that could be unreliable.

Hi

I've done quite a few searches but can't find a marriage as yet or a good hit for Ann(e)  on the censuses (1861-1871)  :-\

Did you get Ann(e)'s surname from a birth certificate?

In 1901, you're probably aware that  Anne and Joseph Jones are living in Ruabon

Green Heys, Henry Street, Ruabon
RG13/5216/32/38

Joseph Jones, 32, Railway carter, b. Chirk
Anne, 46, b. Llangollen
Edwin Lloyd, 21, iron moulder in plaster, b. LLangollen
Hilda Jones, 8, b. Ruabon
and 5 boarders

Two possible marriages on the North Waless BMD for Edwin

1904, Wrexham, Civil (Local Ref -WM/057/16)
Possible spouses - Sarah Lloyd or Florence McFarlin

1909 Wrexham, Civil (Local Ref - WM/066/32)
Possible spouses - Sarah A Jones or Mary J Hughes

I think he might have remained in the local area and possibly married Florence.

Hi Again

Are you sure that Ann(e)'s maiden name was Edwards?

There is an interesting marriage in  June quarter 1877 Corwen RD for a John Lloyd and a possible Ann Jones.

The North Wales BMD, suggests that this was at St Tysilio, Bryneglwys.

Hi there, My Grandmother, Annie Roberts was born at Myla View, Garth, Trevor, Llangollen, and worked for the Lloyd-Roberts Family of Trevor Hall Llangollen. I believe that the family fortune was made in the brick-making industry where they produced the ?Ruabon? bricks that were used to build the terraced houses of Liverpool and Birkenhead at the end of the 19th century. I don't know if that's of any help to you at all but please contact me if you think that it's a line worth pursuing. Regards, Adrian

Hi again, If you type Trevor Hall Luxury Breaks into your google interweb searchybrowser you will find a page on the history of Trevor Hall which contains a great deal of information on the Lloyd-Roberts family which should help in your research. Good luck! Adrian.
