Does anyone have any information or pictures of the farm? My great grandmother Annie Colquhoun lived on the farm when she was a little girl. Her father John Colquhoun owned the farm. Im searching family history and would very much appreciate any information or pictures to add to my folder. Thank You

Hi Folks, still digging trying to get history on our home, Brow Farm!  Thought I would try and generate more interest by adding a couple of photos I have.  This photo is of the farm when I bought it in 2000, taken from the property brochure - sorry its not great quality, scanned from a paper copy.  Anyone with any information would be delighted to hear from you.

Photo of Brow Farm 2014 - post renovation.  I am saying post-renovation, living at Brow Farm is a never ending story of renovation and restoration!!!!  In 2003 we had to renew the roof on the main house as each time it rained we had water pouring through the top floor into the downstairs.  We started the major work to the house in 2007 which involved renovating the main house and then converting two outbuildings to form additional accommodation.  These outbuildings join the main house at either end, one being the old milking parlour and the other section I am told was to house farmhands historically.

It was part of Rowantree which is across the road along with Sunnyside to the west. So, as Brow Farm you will very little.  For the OP - Alexander Frame rented Rowantree and James Frame rented Sunnyside and Brow.  These lands were held by a plumber named Mason from Glasgow then Dr. Mason and after that another Mason (Valuation Rolls).

Sir James Steel, Lord Provost of Edinburgh lived there when his father was a tenant so there is a hint of historical significance although I'm not sure if you put a sign out and a tin cup if it would draw a crowd.

Then there is a ghost story associated with farm in the Bellshill Speaker under the "Velvet Claw" which was a newspaper serial.
