The son Francis KENNA born 1865 is mentioned in a number of articles in Queensland newspapers on Trove Newspapers.

Here's a most interesting obituary......with picture of him.....
http://www.rootschat.com/links/0ece/

It's definitely the right Francis......his death is in the Queensland Death Index, as are those of another two of the sons.

Hi Libby,

I am very NSW centric and have some offline resources.  I will see what I can find on some of the old electoral rolls, including up to 1903 .... that was the year that females were eligible to enrol in federal (national) elections.

Mosman NSW !

Back shortly.

Cheers,  JM

You are amazing (Detective Dee)!.... But how do you find this stuff?  Seriously, is just a matter of using a few sources and then your powers of deduction?

I was 'lost' at Hannah Saunders.  Whilst I could see her on bdm.nsw.gov.au I couldn't verify that it was her.  I didn't want to do what I did before and go off on completely the wrong tangent.  How did you verify her?

Same for William Joseph.  I found the same one as you appear to have found but was again, not 110% sure it was a happy family reunion.

Go girl!

 ;D

PS Oh, hello JM.  Thanks for helping the newby with her new found addiction.

PPS And I thought I would have an early night tonight.....  ;)

No, no early night for you !

I have a nice cuppa handy and some Tim Tams !

So,  1903 Electoral Roll for North Sydney and polling place of Mosman's Bay .... NO sightings for Kenna .... (it was not compulsory to enrol)

So I am currently looking at 1903 NSW ER for Canobolas, and at East Orange page at this minute (weather report for this evening from a rellie who lives there .... could SNOW shortly)

KENNA at East Orange,

Back shortly to add their names here !

EDIT 1
John KENNA, William Street, Stock and Station Agent
Maria KENNA, William Street, at her domestic duties

I will keep looking (I also have NSW Country directories so I hope to find your Rupert's parents somewheres!)

NSW 1903 ER Canobolas .... polling place ORANGE

KENNA, Margaret Mary,  Byng St, at her domestic duties

EDIT 1 I have looked further at many of the polling places (my records are off line and not keyword searchable) in that Canobolas electorate (it went out as far as Condoblin in the west) ...  Did not find any others.  I will check again tomorrow.

Off to look through some country directories  Back shortly !  :D
