ALBERT EDWARD WATTS

I wonder if someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction. I'm looking to obtain a copy of the army service record of Albert Edward Watts born in Q3 1876 in Sheffield, the son of William & Mary Watts. The 1891 census shows him as a drummer boy with the East Yorkshire Regiment at Victoria Barracks in Beverley which fits in with the other family details I have. I can find no trace of him after this date any where.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Simon,

there are two possible sightings for him:

Free BMD marriage December quarter 1894
possible brides: Eliza Ann Scriven    or Sarah Annie Swift

also 1911 census indexes shows Albert Watts 35 yrs Overseas Military- may be worth checking.

Looking at 1901- the other bridegroom in the spouses, has a wife Sarah A so presumably Albert Edward married Eliza Ann Scriven.

Can't see her in 1901 though.

There is an Albert Edward Watts who enlisted on 27th Oct 1815 at Hull into RCH.  He gives his address as Hull, says he is single and has previously served in the 1 and 2 First Yorks for 18 years 85 days. He is a post office cleaner.  He gives his next of kin as William Watts. He left the army on 24.6.1919, so survived the war.

Ancestry have his full record of service in the First Yorks.

Could this be him?
