Hi

I'm looking for information about William Lock born c1730 On the Isle of Wight. William I believe married Elizabeth Morris in 1754 in Carisbrook, Isle of Wight. William and Elizabeth had a son William born 1762 in Niton.

I'd really love any information about the elder William Lock's parents as well as the names of any other children William and Elizabeth had.

I believe Elizabeth Morris was married to an Ashford Readstone before her marriage to William Lock  i believe Elizabeth married Ashford in 1746 in Brixton, Isle of Wight. Any information anyone can provide about any children Elizabeth may have had from this first marriage would be appreciated.

A William Lock was baptised in Newchurch, Isle of Wight 23 Jan 1727, son of Samuel.
No guarantee this is your man.

Ashford & Elizabeth Redston had one child that I can find - William baptised in Brighstone, 19 April 1748.

Hello Casey,
your William is more likely to be linked with this earlier family at Niton, unfortunatly there seems to be missing gaps in records there are no other children for your William and Elizabeth although they were married for eight years before they had William in 1762, or any other records for these others at Niton.

It has been quite tricky tracking the Lock's on the IOW. The records don't seem easy to access.

records are often hard to find, the IGI does not include all baptisms for the Isle of Wight,I have researched Lock/e families on the Isle of Wight for at least 10 years, luckily I copied all Lock/e baptisms up until 1837 from the card index several years ago, if you have any further questions I may be able to help, regards IOW Maiden
