Birth Look-up - 1819 -HOLLIS - Knightsbridge
« on: Sunday 01 May 05 12:39 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am hoping to find info about Edward/Edmund HOLLIS b 1819 Knightsbridge, Middlesex (according to the 1861 census)

By 1861, Edward was married to Elizabeth and living in Lambeth, Surrey.
Children's names were:
 Maria Elizabeth
 Edward Harry
 Thomas James
 Henry William
Perhaps these names may be clues to his parents' names. The children were not named after Elizabeth's parents.

Thank you,
Genie

Edward Hollis married Elizabeth Dixon abt 1849. In 1851 they were living on New St. They had one child at that time - Maria. By 1861 they were living at Fenwick Place, Lambeth. I cannot identify Edward Hollis on the 1841 census. He was supposed to be a ship steward. Elizabeth Dixon was with her Dixon family in 1841. Edward Hollis was the son of Thomas Hollis who was a bricklayer.
