James McKinlay died 1871

James McKinlay died age 55 in 1871 ? Parish of Hamilton.
He was a Colliery Manager married to Mary McConnell. His son Edward McKinlay was present at his death.

Would like to know where he is buried.

First step you'll need his death cert. Do you have that? (DC won't say where buried but important to knoww where he died as will dictate possible places of intermnent).

That depends on where he lived. Do you have an address from death cert? It may be possible to narrow down from where he lived.

You may have to approach the local authority for the info which will have a charge attached for providing burial details.

I had a look at Bent Cemetery Burials 1853-1949 but neither James nor Mary are recorded as having been interred there. Sorry but at least you can eliminate Bent Cemetery, Hamilton.

James McKinlay died in August 1871 age 55. He was a Colliery Manager.
Family consisting of wife Mary and children Mary, Edward, Robert, David, Janet at time of 1871 Census.

James died Larkhall.

Does this give anyone an idea as to where to go to obtain cemetery details?
