Charles Chapman - Lambeth...HELP

I have managed to discover all my other lines of family except my mothers paternal one and I am hoping someone can help.

My Grandfather was a Charles Chapman who lives in Streatham in his old age. I don't know when he was born but when I checked the deaths for Lambeth it returned 2 who both died in 2001. These were a Charles Chapman and a Charles William Chapman, I don't know which one was him.

He was never married to my maternal grandmother when they had my mother who was born in Mitchum in 1951/52. My grandmother was born Ellen Morrow but may have used the name Chapman, she died in 1992 in Oxford and her surname was Caithcart at the time of her death.

I have no family alive with any details, so could anyone advise me on what I should do.

I believe a 2001 Death Certificate should have DoB included - or at least the DoB that the Informant believed was correct....

both men were born after 1911 so no chance of seeing him with parents on a census ...


So ... a bit tough if there's also no marriage to also give age, occupation and own father's name to help Id him.

if he was born in the area that he died in

the only other one that would match was born in wolstanton,staffs. mothers name was brookes

if it is the other death the birthdate given for that is 25th nov 1919
and if his birth was regd as charles chapman
there are only 2
one in chelsea . mothers name; nown
one in west ham mothers name; newlyn

you say you do not know the year he was born
but do you know his birthday?

If you buy both death certs, they'll give the deceased's address.  The one who lived in Streatham will be the right one (as long as they didn't both live there, of course).
