Hi Peter,

If you go to the green scroll beneath your Bagsypenang name click on it and then you can send me your email address(which is private and can only be seen by the recipient in this case me).
I also have an article about the Claypole village which also mentions the mill.

Kathy

PM = Personal Message

You may send someone a PM by
1) clicking on their name, then "Send a PM" is an option.
or
2) clicking on the little green scroll in the area below their name.

:)

Hello, my name is David and I am new to the forum.  Aaron Baker (born 1793) was my 4th great-grandfather, I'm descended from his son Edward John Baker, born in 1845.  Edward's son Fred Baker left England and "jumped ship", i.e., deserted the Royal Navy in Victoria, Canada, around 1890, and made his way to Seattle.  Edward (his father) died there, I suspect he came out there to live with Fred (or stay with him) as Fred could not return to the UK without being prosecuted.
But I digress... I would like to know if anyone has made the connection between Aaron born in 1793 and the Aaron Baker who was born in 1757, and if so, what the senior Aaron's occupation might have been.  Also would like to find out if Hannah (Edward's mother, Aaron Jr's second or third wife) is related to THAT Admiral Nelson.  Only source I have says she was the daughter of the Rev. Suckling Nelson, brother of Horatio.  Thanks for reading this very long-winded e-mail and any help or information is very much appreciated!

Hello my name is Peter, Aaron Baker was my 4x GGF. I am descended from William his first son born / Claypole mill. I don't have any access to my records at the moment. But I would totally disregard the line Suckling Nelson etc. Hannah Aarons wife was not from that family.
As for Aaron Born 1757 [which I think is Aaron 1793 father] I have got no further in confirming this or indeed finding out his profession or where he was born. Please do keep me informed if you get any more news on Aaron 1793 or Aaron 1757. When I get access to my limited records, I will give you the full list of Aaron Bakers 1793 wives and children and other information that may help you.
Regards
Peter [Malaysia] Ex Royal Navy who did not jump ship.
