Hi,

I have a Philip Drewitt (b 1855) and Eliza Ann Sansum (b 1863) married in 1881 in Wantage. They had a number of children, including Kate (who my husband's family descends from). Kate was born in 1881. The issue I have is that the family trees I've seen have Eliza dying in 1882, but also have children born after 1882. So there's Leah (b 1880, which is curious if the marriage is listed as 1881), Arthur in 1887, Albert in 1889, and Walter in 1900. I suspect there are some Drewitt families getting mixed up here, and possibly even some Eliza Sansums. Or that Philip had multiple marriages and they're not listed. So confusing!

The person I'm really concerned with is Kate. I have her born on 13 Dec. 1881. She married Harry Ivers and emigrated to Maine in the US, where she died in 1961. If anyone has any information or can point me in the right direction, I'd be ever so grateful.

It seems the Kate who is daughter of Joseph & Charlotte is not your Kate

Your Kate was the only child of Phillip Drewett and Eliza Ann Samsun


I posted previously Eliza Ann Drewett died age 19 - death reg Mar qtr 1882 Wantage

This reg means she could have died between mid Dec 1881 -end Mar 1882

The same quarter as Eliza Ann died  the birth of daughter kate was registered
