Hi There

Sory but I drew a blank

The entry that I told you about in the Martley transcript could not be found on the film of the parish & I presume that its one of the built in erors to keep a check on big firms who have before copied their transcripts without paying for the privaledge (it has happened & thats why they put a few minor errors on every transcript)

I looked at Wichenford 1764 - 1800, Shrawley 1765 - 1780, Broadwas 1765 - 1790, Doddenham 1766 - 1780, Shelsley beauchamp 1765 - 1780, Aston 1765 - 1780Great Witley (transcript) Only had one Lench in but it was nowhere near the dates you wanted, Litle Witley (this film has an index but there are no lench's in it - I also looked at the varients)

Sorry that I was unable to help you as I thought it was going to be a minor triumph for me but no such luck.

Oh I forgot to say that I did a good search of Martley as well & can only presume that your Lench line may have come from somewhere else & just looked on Martley as their home

All the very best

Phil

Hi Phil,

Thank you so much for going to all that effort for us.  It's such a shame - but I guess we know what we can rule out - back to the drawing board!  I didn't realise about the errors added to transcripts - cunning!

Thanks again, good luck with your reasearch!

Liz
