Hi I am trying to find where my uncle John A O'hara might  be buried in Middlesbrough. He died in 1936 aged 6 and was at the time living in Ernest Street Middlesbrough. I know he had been in hospital at the time of his death but not sure which one. There is a death certificate at the middlesbrough office, so I know this is when he died.....even my mum doesn't know where he was buried. Can anyone help at all ?

Bombergirl - this is the cemeteries and cremation page taken from middlesbrough councils website .
as long as you have the name(s) and death date(s) of the person/people in question , they should be able to tell you if the person /people is buried in any of their cemeteries.
if they are , they should be able to tell you which cemetery , and give you a grave number.

no worries bombergirl.
i work in cemeteries (not in middlesbrough) , and i know that our office staff are very obliging .
how we do it - is like i said , the office staff check it out on database , and depending what ppl want - they either send out all the details , plus a plan of the cemetery with directions to find the grave (in case the ppl wanna come while the cemetery staff are not present) , or they arrange for the cemetery staff to meet with them and locate the grave.
if (as in your case) there isn't much chance of a visit , we normally photograph the gravestone (if there is one) and send it on to said ppl.

Middlesbrough staff are very obliging and will put out a grave marker if you ask them to but I've not heard of them going with you, they are extremely busy.  They will give you a detailed plan.  It's usually Ecneps, Nutty and me that go to find them for people  ;D
