Hi I alive in New Zealand and are trying to find a  cemetery  record of one of my Great Grandfathers children that died.
My G/Grandfather was Jonathan Holland his wife was Elizabeth Emily Holland they had a child that died between 1888-1900 and was buried at Linthorpe Middlesbrough at a very young age. Would any one have any cemetery records for that time, I don't have the name of the child.
Any help would be very much appreciated  Chris Holland

Hi Chris
I found a Marriage for Johnathan Holland and Elizabeth Emily Claxton listed for the period April/May/June 1889 in Middlesbro'. There are a few children buried for the period you are asking about:
Mary Holland Age 0 December 1889
Harry Holland Age 0 December 1890
Gertrude Holland Age 0 December 1892
Henry Holland Age 3 June 1894
John Holland Age 0 June 1894
Arthur Holland Age 0 March 1899
Unfortunately the listing only gives Middlesbro' as the place, I can't tell you which child was defiantly buried at Linthorpe.
I'm hoping that one of the above names might link in with an oft used family name.
In any event, hope this helps,
Best Wishes

Hi Chris
just a thought, if you connect to www.teesvalley-indexes.co.uk you will be able to do a search for the child.
They have a great verification system in place  and are very helpful. If you tell them you are looking for the child of Johnathan and Elizabeth Holland (having given them the names etc of the children you suspect he/she could be) they should be able to help locate your child.
All the best
Helga

Morning All

Is there anybody anticipating contacting Acklam cemetery office in the near future or does anybody know if the office has an email address ?

I'm looking for my great-grandparents who died in the early 1930's, they being

George Kilburn died on the 10-3-1930 at Loftus aged 76yrs
Ellen Kilburn     died on the 11-1-1931 at Middlesbrough aged 80yrs

Though George died at Loftus the Register office at Guisborough tell me that they have no record of him.

George Kilburn's death ref from the GRO is 1930 March Qu Guisborough 9d 575 - so he certainly died then, and Guisborough or Middlesbrough should have the death cert, but where was he buried??  Have you tried Redcar & Cleveland cemeteries office?  If not will phone them tomorrow.

The Bereavement Services Manager at Guisborough, Iain, was most diligent in his search for George, he suggested George may be in a church yard, but with the family not being particularly religious I wonder,
