Hi again... sorry, I didn't realise!
It was Mary Ann Rafferty nee O'Rourke. This family is really tricky to pin down! Thanks for your help........

Hi,
he lived at 6 Queen Street.Conside and Knitsley .... Lanchester.
I think I'm going to invest in a map and get their locations 'pinned', the trouble is, it seems like their addresses changed although they didn't move ... if you know what I mean. (very confused here!lol)

Conside & Knitsley is not really near Middlesbrough  :)

try genuki gazetteer

if you move the map around you'll see Middlesbrough and Thornaby

Hi Helga,

You'll need to get the death dates before trying to find where they're buried.  Freebmd isn't complete, so it means checking the full GRO index

Did you order the certs from the GRO or Middlesbrough?

The GRO seem to be taking an age at the moment.  If you need any more from the Middlesbrough area try

http://www.middlesbrough-indexes.co.uk/

and if you need any from the Lanchester area (Durham)

http://www.durham.gov.uk/gro/newgro.nsf/search?open&C0932143180418042007$

I order from these and they are soooo much quicker than the GRO, also with the TeesValley indexes you can email queries to make sure it's the right cert before ordering.
GREENWELL - Middlesbrough
TURNBULL - Houghton le Spring, Coxhoe, Spennymoor
DEVEY - Pentonville, Stockton, M'bro
MOHAN/HUN - Stockton on Tees
SCRAFTON - Darlington
BROADBENT - Saddleworth, Ashton Under Lyne
HEMSWELL - Grantham, M'bro
SIMPKINS - M'bro
SIMPKIN - Little Wratting, Suffolk
MALLALIEU - Saddleworth, Ashton U L
GOODWIN - Macclesfield Forest
SUTCLIFFE - Heptonstall, Ashton U L
PLIMMER - Pontesbury, Ashton U L
CAMBRIDGE - Goulborne, Ashton U L
SIDDALL - Ashton U L

Hi
thats great, thanks .... I'm going to do exactly that! The GRO are getting beyond a joke, I've had a couple of certs on 'order' for nearly a month now!!
Last year it  took about 10 days at the very latest! Its driving me nuts!!
 Cheers! Helga
