I've looked at the MIs for Middlesbrough cemetery and there are no Kemps recorded. The recording was done in 1978.
Where the Kemps Quakers ? their burial ground was in place before the Linthorpe cemetery was laid out next to it.

Did your Kemps live in Middlesbrough itself, do you have an address or area for them ?

Spenceley , anywhere

Many thanks to Mike Guess for his dedication to helping me.

Hi MINOR
Regarding Adam and George Kemp, they tootle off to Harrogate by the 1901 cenus, Adam is 25 and a carpenter and his brother George is 27 and an engine driver.  Both were born in Ainderby Quernhow Yorkshire, both were sons of John Kemp and Jane his wife, formerly Robinson.  I think Adam's full name is Adam Robinson Kemp but if anyone could find any info on them or their descendants that would be great :-*

Many thanks Mike for sending me the photo of Robert Henry Kemp's headstone in Linthorpe Cemetery Middlesbrough that certainly has answered a few questions, including the fact that there are two husbands buried together in the grave.

I have 23 addressess for the Kemp/Taylor/Bonner/Orth family in Middlesbrough.
Thanks Gareth

Outstanding red team leader, get you a case of beer for that one!!!

Wow!  I had a couple of those but you have certainly strangthened the family with a couple of new additions like Hannah and Edward's burial date so he must be buried at Kilburn.

The confusing element of Kemp (Wright) must be assoicated with his later job as a Wheelwright which shows on GENUKI's trade directories for Kilburn.

Have you got access to the parish registers through a FHS?  This was the best news I have had for ages, so a BIG THANK YOU.  I have been working on databases gathering in the Kemp's of Kilburn earlier this week from FreeBMD, Ancestry and particularly Family Search putting them into tables in MSWord but I certainly hadnt got as many as these.

Its a useful tip to others this far back to build a table of the same name from www.familysearch.org as they could well link up later.

Many thanks once again Minor, you should get 5 stars for this reasearch.
kind regards, Gareth

Would you mind checking the burial records for Middlesbrough cemeteries for a Mary Pinkney died 1882 or any other Pinkney's buried there. Also a Emily Foster died after 1891 census she is the daughter or Mary Pinkney.

Thank you very much.

'Anne

Hello Minor:
Thank you very much for doing the look up for me, I really appreciate it. I think the John Pinkney buried in 1880 in Linthorpe is the husband to Mary Pinkney as on the 1881 census Mary is a widow and I have both John and Mary on the 1871 census in Linthorpe.

Thanks again

Anne
