Some family ww1 stuff

Hi My names Matthew
I have recently inherited some family stuff from WW1 Such as medals tins and badges and capbadges and stuff.
I am very intrested in the medals however and To find out more about the people ,what they did and maybe what they where involved in dureing the Great war.
The medals i have are

Pte T. Cunningham 6359 Coldstream Guards- Prisoner of War
The Victory medal
The Defense Medal
1914 Star

Pte G. Lunn 4063 Welsh Guards
Victory Medal
Defense Medal

Pte W. J. Worviell 242981 The Queens Regiment
Vicotry Medal
Defense Medal

Pte D. C. Flavell 19347 Royal Warwickshire Regiment

Defense Medal
Dead Mans Penny

wow what a fabulous collection and how very lucky you are to own them. i will start having a look for some of these peoples war records and get back to you but i just wanted to say how lovely those medals are.

In each case, this is actually the British War Medal (Defence medal is a WW2 medal, in fact you have the ribbon for it alongside the Africa Star, its the green/orange/black one).

First off, do you know if these individuals survived the war at all? If not then check CWGC to begin with. Flavell is obviously one who should be listed there, hence the Dead Mans Penny.
Name interests: Boulton, Murrell, Lock, Croxton, Skinner, Blewett, Tonkin, Trathen.

i did find a few of the medal cards for one or two of the gentleman listed but thats not really much help i suppose, but i can PM you the details shoudl you want them

They would still be useful for Matthew to have if they give any other information other than just medal entitlement. For example, theatre of war first entered, battalion number, remarks all helpful if given.  :)
