Hi All
My great great grandfather was William Rosser born Wales, possibly between 1825 and 1833 (probably closer to 1833), possibly Glamorgan County, confirmed married Rachel Adams at Pontypool, Monmouthsire in March 1/4 of 1856. William and his family along with another four Welsh families with mining backgrounds emigrated to Western Australia in 1859. William became the manager of the Wheal Fortune lead mine near Northampton, Western Australia. He died at Northampton, WA in 1902. Death certificate says born Glamorgan, Wales aged 77 years at death while headstone says aged 69 years. I have seen one family tree that suggests he was born at Pembrey, Carmarthenshire, Wales about 1831 and was a carpenter. I don't think this is my William Rosser as I seemed to be able to track him through census documents as a carpenter remaining in and dying in Wales. One would think my William would have been an experienced miner of some sort. I have plenty of material after the family's arrival in Western Australia and will share. Are any of these details familiar to anyone and are you able to assist me please.
Regards
Chris Willcocks, Thornlie, Western Australia.
