births on St. Helena
« on: Wednesday 06 July 11 20:14 BST (UK) »
My G Grandmother on the 1911 census, put in the Place of Birth box...St Helena Resident.1865
I always thought her to be Irish but maybe her father was serving there when she was born.

Her name was Bridget Lonnergan and her Father, James. She married my grandfather in the barracks in Tipperary in 1884.

Can some kind sole suggest how I would trace this information please?

Kind regards,

John Cooper

Does the marriage certificate not list her father's occupation?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

It says Butter Buyer" but that was a few years after wards and in Tipperary. If he was army, he could then have been demobbed.
