general question
« on: Wednesday 06 July 11 07:24 BST (UK) »
i havent done family history type stuff for some time and have a couple of quesions.

i have been looking at National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations),1861-1941.... and found an entry of interest to me ...my relative died in 1935 and probate went to as far as in know an unrelated male who is described as 'a police inspector'.. effects of £116

my first question is ... do you think that his death is connected to a criminal matter or not
2nd question is .... can i get the death cert for a death in 1935 or is this too recent ?

Thanks
Iain

Iain,
This week I received a death certificate for a death from 2000, so I would say 'yes', to your second question.  :)

The fact that Probate was granted to a police inspector does not indicate that the death was related to a criminal matter, it simply means that the occupation of the executor of the will was police inspector, he could have been a family friend or neighbour, somebody the deceased trusted to handle his affairs.
