Yes the Cathedral is the first stop....also handy for carparking etc...and refreshment of whatever kind afterwards.
Jed
Will see you there then .. I will get the quarter past 9 train to Deansgate and hike it down to the cathedral ... I should be there for 10.15 :)

I've confirmed Saturday's meet with the relevant folk, so here is the suggested itinerary.Obviously in the time available its only possible to have a "look see" at the various places, but I hope folk enjoy it.

I will be outside the Cathedral on the main road at 10 am .For those who havent met me I will be carrying a big red umbrella (this has no signifuicance other than to keep the rain off !)
At 10.30 we meet our Guide,  for the tour, which will last about an hour.
For lunch there is the Cathedral cafe opposite or , round the corner, is the wellington Inn and Sinclairs in Shambles Square (google shambles manchester for an interesting read), or indeed numerous other places around.

12.30 reassemble for walk up Deansgate to the Peoples History Museum

1 pm Peoples History Museum
2.....2.15 leave for
2.30 Museum of Science and technology and /or aerospace museum.there is an exhibition of textile machinery at 3 pm.

3.30   leave for John Rylands Library tour at 4 pm

4.30... 6.45  free

6.45 for 7  MOON UNDER WATER on Deansgate.  There is space reserved for us UPSTAIRS  (lift available).

                                                                                        .....................................
FRIDAY EVENING

As a few folk will be staying at the premier Inn ({printworks) on Deansgate;( the link that ggill posted  shows the location.).
over the weekend, it has been suggested that  folk meet them  there for a meal on Friday night,if they wish, as an add on to Saturdays event. i would suggest folk   turn up about 7.30pm....
For folk travelling to piccadilly Station; id suggest getting the Metrolink tram  to victoria station (tram for Victoria or Bury)get ticket before you get on),specially if you dont know manchester)..
Leave the station by the exit near the Tearooms, then follow the road round to the right. keep going till you come to a T junction (Victoria Bridge).
You will see the Premier Inn on the left, across the road.

Thanks for all the hard work in getting this ready.  Apart from having to bring a raincoat - you can tell I live in Yorkshire  ;D - I'm really looking forward to the programme you've put together  :)

See you Saturday
