Is Elizabeth of French descent? There is a surname and place name spelled Languin, and there is a village in France spelled Laingun. Can't find a surname spelled Lamgun, though, Braw. Fran

Thanks for that Jim,

Well, the IGI has it as Lamgun, and it looks like that to me, although there is a slight squiggle at the end of the 'n' which may have been an attempt to turn it into an 'm', and therefore giving Lamgum.

I have no idea if the lady was foreign. But trawling through the names beginning with 'L' on the batch number MO1072-2 there is nothing else close to it.

I wonder if her name was actually Langham, but due to accent distortion was written incorrectly...

If anyone has any bright ideas - feel free to chip in!

I think it says Langam (which could be a misspelling of Langham).
