Many thanks Pauline for your quick response.
My Worthy's parents were married in Hullavington, just across the border in Wiltshire.  There seem to be a lot of Mills in Wiltshire - even more than Gloucestershire.
Happy hunting.  If I find anything connecting us I will let you know!!

Hi again,

Just to give you a georgraphy lesson of the area.

Shipton Moyne is in the district of Tetbury Union, Tetbury
Hullavington is 4 miles away
Westport St Mary is 0.3miles from Malmesbury which I saw Hestor mentioning was her birthplace.
Shipton Moyne is 3 miles from Malmesbury.
Shipton is 5 miles from Hullavington.
These areas are very close to each other but on the border of Gloucestershire
and Wiltshire, which often makes finding your ancestors difficult.
These were all walkable distances in those days.  No cars allowed laugh.

Then I looked at Worthy Mills born about 1831.
On the 1841 census he is 10 and with his parents
William born 1796 in Gloucestershire
Jane born      1801       "

In 1851 census William is 56 born in Shipton and Ag Lab
Jane is 53 born Hullavington.
Worthy is 20
Edwin born 1834 Ag Lab born Shipton

Then Hester Mills
She is quoted as being born Westport and Malmesbury on the census
as mentioned they are only 0.3 miles away from each other which is
like a walk down the road.

I did find the following for the Grey family which I dont think has been mentioned fully

George Grey and Ann christened their children at Shipton Moyne

William Grey christened 17th October 1790 died 5th December 1790
William Grey   "               11th October 1791
Robert Grey                     11th May 1794
Aaron Grey                       12th August 1798
Moses Grey                      12th August 1798
Dinah Grey                       7th July 1805

A few gaps so might be missing information or they died before they
were baptised.

Cant see yet the connection between your Hester and Worthy but it
could be the Grandma Jane as I noticed they have a Jane as a Granddaughter
in a later census.

Many thanks Sandymc and Victor for your added information.  I know that Worthy's parents, William and Jane (Angel) married in Hullavington in 1818, when Jane was 22.    I'm sure they must have had other children before Worthy who was not born until 1832 when Jane was 36.  Perhaps Hester was my William's Aunt.  Hester and William's son William was born 3 years before my William, so obviously not the same person.  Don't you just love genealogy.......sometimes in answering a question, it raises dozens more!!!

Many thanks once again for your input.  The geography lesson was invaluable, thank-you.

Kind Regards,
Gayle in NZ.

Hi Victor,

You have made my day. I have been searching for these Grey children baptism dates for four years and had given up ever finding them. William I had as being born in 1819 and Aaron I did not have at all. Aaron was a family name so I am not surprised they also had a son by that name.

Once again thank you, thank you. I still cannot believe it. I have a lot of rewriting of my records to do.

Kind Regards,
Pauline

Hi Sandy,

Thank you for the information you have found on my Grey family. Every piece of information helps and it is amazing what it can lead to.
It is hard to imagine from this side of the world all these little villages so close to-gether and with in walking distance of one another. Thank you for explaining that.
