http://www.walthamstowhistory.com/walthamstow.htm

"In 1808, the whole site and some surrounding marshland was put up for sale. It was puchased by a Welsh based company known as the "British Copper Company". The copper was smelted in "Landore" near Swansea in South Wales and brought by barge around the south coast up the Thames and the Lea, then up the Coppermill Stream to the mill. The original wooden unloading crane can be seen in the above picture. The copper ingots were then rolled into thin sheets which were sent all over the Country to be stamped into coins. These were penny and half penny tokens.

It could be Catherine Penny, she may have been married twice.I did not realise how time consuming this ancestry stuff could be.
I thought that there were 2 Buzzard families living near each other with a William as the head.Until I worked out that Anne had died and he had then married Eliza, whose husband Robert Reynolds had also conveniantly died!!.
Both families were almost neighbours,so would have known each other.
Also Eliza Reynolds whom William married after Annes death had 4 children herself, and it looks like they were shared out amoungst the Buzzard family and unofficially adopted.
So you could have cousins on your half that are unknowingly adoptees of Eliza Buzzard/Reynolds.
It looks almost certain that John Buzzard ended his days as Chapel Keeper (caretaker)to the Guards Chapel in Bird Cage walk.and this would explain how Catherine was given the relative luxury of an Alms house, conected to the Regiment and Chapel in St Ermins Hill SW1.
Here she lived with 2 of Williams and Annes children.Emma and Sarah
Another son of William and Anne,John, was put into the Greycoat workhouse school.
Henry stayed with his mother and father.

The reason that I am following the Buzzard line of the family,is that it is so much easier to follow than the name Phillips, which is a blooming nightmare, because there are thousands of the buggers.
Have u got an ancestry tree anywhere on tinternet?

Corrr you're smart!
You've worked out in one post what I've been trying to work out for years!  :D

I do have a tree on ancestry, it's set to private though so when you have joined or if you're already joined up, let me know your user name and I'll add you to see the tree  :) :)

I can imagine the surname Phillips is a bit of an annoying line to research, almost as bad as Smith or Jones  ;D

Hello Rachel,Havnt been on for a while.John Buzzards wife is Kitty (Catherine) Williams.born Cowley,Oxfordshire.1778.Baptised as Kitty. She had at least 2 sisters.

Have also found out that Ann Coldrick/Couldrick who became Ann Buzzard died in child birth,The baby lived for a further 8 months.

Also John and Catherine had at least 4 other children,it looks like they all died at a very young age.

Hope you are well,Lawrence Phillips,London,
