Hello Bridget, this stone is one of three stones situated on a large plot owned by the Gold family. I seem to remember a previous discussion on this same family, so there are others researching it.

The inscription is rather faded and in some places it is illegible, I will add what I have of it below.

"Erected by Andrew Gold in memory of Elizabeth Weir who died 8th January 1823 aged 74 years. The above Andrew Gold died 11th November 1857 aged 67 years. Also Rebecca Kilpatrick his wife who died at Cambusnethan 23rd July 1867 aged 77 years. John Millar died 30th October 1879 aged 36 years. His wife Rebecca Kilpatrick Muir died 15th October 1886 aged 39 years. His son in law Robert Muir ............... aged 62 years" ........ (rest worn).

Hi Sam,
Welcome to Rootschat. First of all, it's against the rules to leave your email address, you'll have to remove it.
As for the names, please be more specific if you can, I would have to have another, different surname on the same stone to make a match, a maiden surname would be good.  No Bri(y)ce, Murdock(h) or McGhee but 18 Prentice stones!

I have photographs of headstones from Cambusnethan Churchyard at Greenhead Road (not the ancient burial ground at Kirkhill). If anyone requires a copy, please contact me by PM and include your email address. The names in upper-case are the principal surnames on the stone, (usually Husband + Wife). The names in lower-case are Christian names and placenames. Where there is only one surname, I have tried to add at least one Christian name.

This thread is purely for requests of photos for this particular cemetery and any new genealogical research post should move to a new thread

This is the only Fraser headstone picture I have, unless there is one that has a married woman's maiden surname as Fraser.

Paterson, Torrance, Gilchrist - Hamilton Lanarkshire.
McCallum - Oban, McKechnie - Ross of Mull Argyll.
Scrim - Perthshire.
Liddell - Polmont,
Binnie - Muiravonside Stirlingshire.
Curran, McCafferty, Stevenson, McCue - Co Donegal
Gibbons, Weldon - Co Mayo.
Devlin - Co Tyrone.
Leonard - County Donegal & Glasgow.

Hi Lodger,

I am interested in the details on the headstone for French, Finlay and Lorimer.

Thank you.

This one is a little difficult to read, the transcription is -

"1841 Erected by John French to the memory of Margaret Finlay his spouse who died on the 7th June 1840 aged 23 years. And Elizabeth Lorimer his mother who died 17th September 1840 aged 73 years. John French died 12th Sept 1850 aged 34 years".

Paterson, Torrance, Gilchrist - Hamilton Lanarkshire.
McCallum - Oban, McKechnie - Ross of Mull Argyll.
Scrim - Perthshire.
Liddell - Polmont,
Binnie - Muiravonside Stirlingshire.
Curran, McCafferty, Stevenson, McCue - Co Donegal
Gibbons, Weldon - Co Mayo.
Devlin - Co Tyrone.
Leonard - County Donegal & Glasgow.
